We are looking for BridgeMentors who mentors children in Lewiston-Auburn area. We believe that the most effective way to learn new, more successful behaviors comes from leading by example. With this in mind, we have designed a culturally competent mentoring program intended to bridge the gaps between hope and despair by pairing Mentors with eligible youth. BridgeMentors are people in the community who care about our children. They care that our children have fun, engage in healthy activities, go new places and see new things, learn new skills and most of all, have people in their lives who they can trust, who they can talk to when they need special support and comforting.BridgeMentors are trained and culturally competent to work with our community families. There are so many good people in our community who want to share their time with our children and youth and their parents. Our BridgeMentors are role models and are expected to set good examples. They help our youth build healthy relationships with their peers, their parents and extended families, and the community at large. The goal is to successfully integrate or reintegrate into our community.
Do you need more reason to be a Bridgementor?
How about if one hour of your time a week with a child could increase his/her chance to be a leader by130%.
All BridgeMentors will receive training and support throughout the process and term.
