Title: BHP/Cultural Broker
Supervisor: Clinical Care Director/Clinician
Rate: $20/hour (Fee for Services)
Employment Type: Fee for Services
Preferences: Bilinguals are encourage to apply but not required.
· The Behavior Health Professional provides direct service to the child in the child’s home and community. He or she must meet the following:
· Knowledge of or willingness to be trained to meet variety of cultural/spiritual needs identified in a biopsychosocial/cultural/ spiritual assessment
· Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field, or be enrolled in the last semester of this degree.
· Have a valid driver’s license, and be agreeable to using personal car for client purpose. Vehicle must have a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 liability coverage, and HR will require proof.
· Pass pre-employment screening to include a DHS background check, criminal background and driving record check, and periodically after hire.
· Behavioral Health Professional certification is necessary. For the right candidate, the agency will cover the initial expense of this course. Thereafter, the BHP is responsible for any ongoing education that may be required.
· The BHP/CB will be responsible to follow weekly individual and other assigned supervision.
· A BHP/CB affirms the right of children with varying intellectual, emotional, and behavioral abilities to have the opportunity to make choices for themselves and to exert a measure of control over their physical and social environment. Quality standards include the following:
· Utmost respect for children and their families in all interactions.
· Knowledge of developmental stages and treatment/support strategies.
· Participate in the development & implementation of Individual Treatment Plans.
· Ability to access and employ community resources.
· Knowledge of individual civil rights.
· Conduct all activities and interactions in a professional, caring manner.
· Work in a cooperative and collaborative manner as a team member.
· Additional Duties and Responsibilities Provide in-home and community support.
· Adherence to the objectives & methods in the Individual Treatment Plan (ITP).
· Adherence to the child's safety/crisis plan
· Attend all ITP meetings for the child as designated, and any applicable meetings approved by Administration.
· Maintain accurate up-to-date daily progress notes and additional comments and reports in a timely manner.
· Provide transportation for children, as needed, as indicated in the ITP, ensuring safety at all times.
· Carry out all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
· Complete all agency required trainings.
· Be committed to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
· Must adhere to MIRS’s mental health licensing standards regarding confidentiality and client rights.
Expectations & Working Conditions (include but are not limited to)
· Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
· Become familiar with the program and its mission.
· Become familiar with the organization and personnel.
· Compliance with MEIRS policies and procedures.
· Appropriate personal appearance.
· Be able to spend time indoors and outdoors year round.
· May be exposed to contagious diseases, including but not limited to, HIV and Hepatitis B.
· Bachelor Degree: Social services or related field preferred
· Must be willing to work with diverse population
· Must be willing to work in family homes, schools and in the community
· BHP Certification(agency will train)
· Arabic, Somali speaking candidates or bilingual preferred but not required.
· Must be willing to work with children with behavioral issues in an intrusive environment.
